Fundraising 101
An easy way to help Prairie Moon Waldorf School financially is to purchase SCRIPS cards that can be used in your favorite grocery stores in Lawrence.
Here is how the SCRIPS program works:
As an example, let’s say you often buy groceries at the Community Mercantile Natural Foods Grocery (MERC) spending on average $200/week. As a participant in SCRIPS you would:
By Wednesday morning of each week…
- Write a check to Prairie Moon Waldorf School for $200 and deposit it in the wooden mailbox in the school lobby
- Designate which grocery store gift card you want on the sign-up sheet next to parent file box
On Friday of each week…
- Pick-up the grocery gift card
- Except during Summer School when the card is mailed to your home.
When you use this gift card, the MERC gives 6% to Prairie Moon Waldorf School.
Checker’s, Hy-vee and Dillons give 5%. You will be able to purchase and take home $200 worth of groceries. The program costs you nothing but the benefit to Prairie Moon Waldorf School is significant.
Another easy way to help the school is to use your Lawrence Give-Back card. Prairie Moon Waldorf School must be the designated charity for the card that you use. It is a free card for Lawrence residents designed to help local Lawrence charities raise needed funds, save money for cardholders and promote locally owned independent businesses at no charge. Contact the School office manager for information about obtaining the Give-Back Card.
We raised 4,268.50 SCRIPS for 2008/2009. We are already on track to beat this number during the 2009/2010 school year.
