Shannon Doyle
Administrative Assistant
Shannon is originally from New Jersey and has lived in Lawrence for 11 years, finding it an eclectic and alternative safe haven in Kansas. She has a background in the service industry, having worked nearly every position under the sun, from barista to bartender to waitress. Shannon has worked for many spiritual coaches and women owned businesses in roles such as ghost writing, administration, website and graphic design, project management, and leadership.
She has worked for international remote businesses, trained under occupational therapists, and has built multiple businesses from the ground up, for herself and for others. She has tried a lot of different things, taking a piece of what she enjoyed from each experience and bringing it together to find what she is passionate about.
Shannon majored in English and Spanish at KU and worked at the KU Writing Center as an Undergraduate Writing Consultant, Workshop Facilitator, and Assistant Teacher. Finding a passion for tutoring students 1:1, when she graduated as a nontraditional student in 2020 at the age of 26, she opened her own business. She shifted her focus to children and young adults with ADHD and Autism since she herself had ADHD and wanted to share everything she had learned about living with it successfully.
After that, she took on a job as the Executive Assistant to the Dean of the School of Architecture & Design at KU. After having all accommodations denied, and finding it wasn’t an atmosphere she wanted to be a part of, she went back to what she knew as a barista while she searched for her next opportunity. There she met a parent at Prairie Moon who recommended she work with his child as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) in the field of Applied Behavioral Science. Shannon found that this was nearly identical to what she had been intuitively doing as a self employed tutor, and was beyond grateful for the possibility of being in a kind and caring environment such as Prairie Moon. Her favorite part about this school is that people and children are viewed as spiritual beings first. When a position in the office opened up, she quickly applied, and is grateful to currently hold both roles as Administrative Assistant as well as supporting her student as an RBT.
